Illumin Success at Nottingham's Light Night!

Illumin Success at Nottingham's Light Night!

We teamed up with Nottingham City Transport for Light Night on Friday 5 February and gave the people of Nottingham a trip to remember!

Our free performances of Illumin became fully booked soon after the event went on sale and audiences weren't disappointed!

At 5.30PM, 6.30PM, 7.30PM and 8.30PM, a special Nottingham City Transport bus picked up excited members of the public from a bus stop situated on King Street and took them on an enchanting journey.

Once on the bus, people were surprised with a wonderful choir performance and a special performance by Dance4's Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) in Dance students Aldane Salmon and Amanda Martin, and CAT Teaching Assistant Emily Thurston.

After a short jounrey, the bus arrived at King Edward Park in Sneinton where audiences got a glimpse of Dance4's new International Centre for Dance and Choreography, which is situated just next to the park.  People were then led through a beautiful lantern garden (the lanterns were made a couple of weeks ago at a free workshop at Malt Cross, which the public were invited along to), and were presented with another short performance.

It was then time for the bus to take our audiences back to the stop on King Street.  People donated generously to our Campaign25 fundraising when leaving the bus and we raised a brilliant £88.32 towards our new home for dance!

Dance4 would like to thank Nottingham City Transport for the use of one of their buses, and Malt Cross for the use of their space for our lantern-making workshop.
