Dance4 invites you to witness current practices and thinking from the UK and beyond, to contribute to the future of the field and to explore your place within it.

As such there will be many opportunities in which you can engage in research which takes a future look at choreography in the UK and provokes discussion and debate between artists, academics and the public.

From the very beginning, on Wednesday, Evangelia Kolyra is at the Lace Market Gallery with her piece code bend time. In code bend time Evangelia will experiment with the phonemes of the English language and find movements that the body is inclined to make with particular sounds.

Then for a Sunday treat Lisa, Rachel and Sally from Body of Knowledge reflect upon their experiences delving into and sharing their archives and responding to their recent residencies at the Silk Milk and iC4C. Body of Knowledge is a research project that explores the body as a living archive and how it might be treated as such through collection, articulation and dissemination, so challenging traditional archival methods reliant upon artefacts and documents.
