Katherine Hall and Sian Rosier (UK)

Katherine Hall is an interdisciplinary dance artist working in the East Midlands and South West.

Katherine's MA Performance Practices study, completed in September 2014, alongside her training with Nina Martin and Jacky Lansley (SDIPT 13/14), has developed her practice as a speaking dancer. She creates works and negotiates everyday situations through exploring the interplay of movement, voice and the perception of body-as-knowledge. Within choreographic and social environments, Katherine is particularly concerned with the fragility of time and interrelationships, seeking to present situations that offer up different modes and forms of being and acting together. Her choreographic work aims to capture the on-going nature of life's oddities, know-hows and intimacies through moving, vocalising, writing and improvising. Katherine was shortlisted for the Jerwood Choreographic Research Project Award in Autumn 2013 in collaboration with dance artist Lewys Holt on the research project 'Subject to Change' and her recent solo work 'Fill in the _____' (2014) has been showcased to sold-out audiences at New Walk Museum in UK Young Artists Festival, Leicester, November 2014.

Sian Rosier is a dance artist based in South west and North Wales. Her work involves devising experimental soundscapes within performance and choreography which explores themes of human experience and relationships. She often collaborates with artists of different disciplines and her research is informed by travel, languages, communication and score-making. Sian recently graduated with BA Hons Dance from De Montfort University and is currently drawing on experience in the support sector and sign language training to develop outreach work for local communities.
