Foundation for Community Dance’s National College Summer School 2012

Based in the excellent PACE Building at De Montfort University, this suite of courses is perfect for the dance practitioner wanting to deepen and develop their knowledge and practical skills.

FCD certified with 25 CPD credits aligned with industry approved National Occupational Standards in Dance Leadership, these courses support your leadership to generate work and develop your dance leading in participatory settings.

This year’s participants can choose one of the following courses:

Passport to practice: An induction to professional practice in community dance with Diane Amans

Dance, health and wellbeing with Miranda Tufnell Dance and disabled people with Isabel Jones Dance and age inclusive practice with Cecilia Macfarlane NEW! Dance, media and site-specific practice

Each course features talks and practical sessions with other top community dance specialists including a workshop inchoreographic practice applied to the settings you work in led by an industry expert. There will be sessions during which all courses come together and participants will benefit from the interlinking of practical ideas and discussion points. There’s something for everyone, from the practitioner starting out (Passport to practice course), to the experienced dance artist (who can choose one of the courses with a specific focus).

These prices include: course fee, accommodation, course handbook, lunches and refreshments and a post-course coaching session.

Early bird: £315 members / £495 non-members 
After 30 March: £355 members / £535 non-members
