RESET (Dance4, Nottingham)
Finnish-French collaborators Simo and Vincent's working process is an exploration into the very nature of choreographic art; its relation to history and to other works. They take an extremely close look at the way things are presented, used (or viewed), archived, reported and recycled.
This residency is a collaboration with photographer Aurélie Pétrel.
During the residency the artists have an open door policy where anyone is welcome to make an appointment to come, to see, to talk. A fascinating process takes place; like archeologists they dig for history, information and stories. From this research they build. You can follow their journey here on the attached pages through their daily stories and images - outlining their current positions and their inventories. We have also started a blog in response to their residence, authored by various members of the Dance4 team.
There are open RESET events that will take place on:
Thursday 24 October 5pm - 8pm
Friday 25 October 4pm - 9pm
Saturday 26 October 12 noon - 3pm
If you would like to meet with the artists prior to the RESET events, please contact laurab [at] dance4 [dot] co [dot] uk (Laura Barber at Dance4)
Reset (Dance4, Nottingham) is part of a series of intermedial projects in different places across Europe, each examining and uncovering traces of history specific to that place. Previous Reset (Zodiac, Helsinki) explored traces of a venue from its inception, and through conversation and archival research with artists and performers who have animated its main stage. For further reading please see the RESET project information document at the bottom of the page.
