Autumn 2017 Season and Brochure Are Here

We are please to announce our exciting new season of new public art works, workshops, residencies and training opportunities.
Presentation

The autumn season kicks off with Rosanna Irvine's Breathing Line, a new public art work taking place at Sneinton Market on 9 September. Lucy Suggate will be presenting a weekend of activities at our partners Nottingham Castle, Ways of Seeing, Ways of Being that will enhance your experience of the 19th century art collection in the Long Gallery. Colette Sadler's Learning from the Future Nottingham Contemporary will be a reflection on the unimaginable in the future; while D.A.N.C.E will bring together comedians and dancers for a night of improvisation.

Research

This autumn, you will have the chance to join several conversations and view sharings of research and dance works-in-progress. Our Coffe Morning series continues with Seeta Patel asking questions around skewed histories, and the Sunday Supplements are back with Jaivant Patel Dance's Yaatra and Marie Béland's BESIDE

Join Sally Doughty and Lucy Suggate for Dance4's very first Score Sunday, in which you will gain experience in working with and developing your own score to generate movement.

Participation

If you are keen to be part of choreographic pieces, we have two fantastic opportunities for you.

H2Dance invites you to join Strangers and Others to explore the question of who takes responsability for the consequences of actions?

If you are a dance group leader or a young person dancing in a youth dance group, have a look at U.Dance 2018 opportunities, and make sure to apply by 30 November.

LEARNING

We embrace the development of dance and choreography on all levels, and continue to offer a rich programme of Learning and Skills this autumn.

The Jump Start programme resumes on 11 September and our CAT classes on 9 September. If you are  Secondary school teacher, you can also book for a FREE Dance Workshop for your School, aimed at Years 7, 8, 9 and 10.

To develop your dance ideas and teaching skills, come along to our Primary Teacher Training Event or  Continuing Professional Development Day aimed at Secondary level teachers and dance professionals working with young people.
