U.DANCE 2016

U.Dance is back and the East Midlands region will play host to five county platforms that will celebrate youth dance and choreographers from across the region.

The five county platforms will be managed in partnership by Dance4, Déda, artsNK, The Castle and Youth Dance England's U.Dance National Performance Framework.

  • N.Dance, Northamptonshire Saturday 6 February at The Castle, Wellingborough
  • Mass Movement, Leicestershire and Rutland Sunday 7 February at Curve, Leicester
  • Interface - Tuesday 23 & Wednesday 24 February at Déda, Derby
  • True Motion, Lincolnshire Saturday 5 March at Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, Lincoln
  • Episodes, Nottinghamshire Sunday 6 March at Nottingham Lakeside Arts, Nottingham (part of the Nottingham Young People's Dance (NYPD) Weekender.

Please note that those groups taking part in Xzibit on Saturday 5 March at Nottingham Lakeside Arts will be considered to progress through the U.Dance framework.  Xzibit is part of NYPD Weekender.

MY (Midlands Youth) Dance Festival

Dance4 are again working in partnership with DanceXchange, West Midlands to create a regional festival.

This year’s MY Dance Festival will take place in Birmingham, hosted by DanceXchange.

Five groups from across the East Midlands will be chosen by live selection panels at the county events.  The five East Midlands groups will be joined by five groups from the West Midlands who will perform together at MY Dance Festival.

U.Dance 2016 National Festival

Youth Dance England’s national youth dance festival U.Dance 2016 will be held in Salford.

During the festival youth dance groups from around the UK will be given the opportunity to perform and part in workshops with leading artists and inspirational teachers throughout the three-day residency.
