Jérôme Bel, Europe’s most exciting choreographer will return to Nottingham, his ‘UK home’ the first dance show he ever choreographed. After a triumphant debut tour of America, Bel has solidified his reputation as the most innovative and stunningly entertaining young dance artist in the world today.
In this piece Bel sets out a ‘theatre of things’, objects presented for our scrutiny. The two performers manipulate the objects and allow a cunning web of meaning and relation to develop. The result is a hilarious and surprisingly human spectacle challenging the spectators understanding of dance and theatre and offers a rare chance to see Bel himself perform.
Taking place from the 29th April till the 18th of May, nottdance promises to be another compelling festival celebrating contemporary performance art.
