Victor Fung

Victor Fung

Victor Fung is a dance artist and researcher based in London and Hong Kong.

He graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and University of California Santa Barbara, and later completed an MA in Choreography at London Contemporary Dance School. He is currently conducting his doctoral research with a studentship award from Middlesex University and Dance4.

Victor received the Award for Young Artist (Dance) for his artistic achievement at the Hong Kong Arts Development Award. As a choreographer, he has received funding and commissions locally and internationally including Arts Council England, Chisenhale Dance Space (UK), Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Hong Kong Dance Alliance, City Contemporary Dance Company (HK), Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Junior Dance Company (IT) amongst others.

His production Not Enough (Beyond Reason) was shortlisted as one of the three Outstanding Independent Dance for the 2012 Hong Kong Dance Award. As a performer, his recent performance credits include Aida at Royal Albert Hall, Tino Seghal's These Association at Tate Modern and Hollywood production 47 Ronin featuring Keanu Reeves.

Besides choreographing and performing, Victor is also an experienced dance teacher and has taught classes for a wide range of institutions and organisations including The Place, London Contemporary Dance School, Henny Jurriëns Foundation (NL) and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts amongst others.
