Strangers and Others is an engaging and frank look at how we interact with other people. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about leaving behind the security blanket of being in an audience, but in just a moment I was drawn in like the others and travelling silently guided only by the voice in my headphones.

Nottingham Playhouse & Dance4 Host Gathering

A network event for D/deaf or disabled artists.

In recognition of the under representation of D/deaf and disabled people throughout our industry Dance4 and Nottingham Playhouse have joined forces to host Gathering, a networking event for D/deaf and/or disabled people engaging in choreography or theatre as a performer, director, musician, film maker or writer, both recreationally or professionally.

Dance4 announced as Weston Jerwood Creative Bursary Host

Graduate Dance Artist role created

This nationwide programme supports arts organisations to expand their approach to diverse recruitment and talent development, and build their capacity for outstanding artistic production.  Salaried placement roles have been created that are only open to recent graduates from low income backgrounds, in order to address the under-representation of this group in the creative sector.

International Showcasing Statement

We are now embarking on establishing a four-year strategy 2018-2022 working in partnership with UK and international partners to extend opportunities for independent artists to present their practice in international contexts.

Paul Burns Appointed Associate Director at Dance4

He will join Dance4 at their Nottingham base, international Centre for Choreography (iC4C) from August 2017 until July 2018.

ITV news has made a report on one of our CAT alumni who is currently touring the country with the National Youth Dance Company with a piece called 'Tarantiseismic'.

Dance4 Artistic Director to Collaborate with DanceXchange

Paul will contribute to the development of the programme and partnerships for IDFB 2018 festival this year and work with DanceXchange as they establish new possibilities for future editions of the festival.
