OUTBOUND, the artist-development programme is pleased to announce the six artists who will be joining their 2024 artist development programme.

 

The artists are:

  • Ashley Jordan nominated by FABRIC
  • Chisato Minamimura nominated by The Place
  • Bakani Pick-up nominated by Northern School of Contemporary Dance/Yorkshire Dance
  • Chess Dillon Reams nominated by South East Dance
  • Glass House Dance (Laura McGill and Sarah Lewis) nominated by DanceEast
  • Jesse Salaman and Toi Guy nominated by Dance City.

Ashley Jordan will be working with us for OUTBOUND 2024. Black British Dancer / Choreographer / Company Director of Ascension Dance Company. As a choreographer, he has produced work with the BBC (BBC Dance Passion 2022 & BBC Contains Strong Language 2021), Sky Arts and worked with the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 to create and tour a piece of work throughout the game’s activities.

He was 1 of 15 people on the City of Culture Leadership programme, selected as a Vital Spark 2022/23 with Spark Arts, a Little Big Dance Artist Lab Participants, held residency in South Africa as part of the British Council Funded “How to eat a Doughnut” artistic residency and is currently finishing a “Developing Your Creative Practice” funding grant supported by Art Council England.

He excited to be the Fabric Outbound Artist for 2024, building on a blossoming relationship with Fabric alongside meeting and working with other national dance artists, venues and organisations.

OUTBOUND is delivered in partnership by us at FABRIC, Dance City, DanceEast, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, South East Dance, The Place and Yorkshire Dance.
