Professional development opportunity for East Midlands Dance Artists.

LUSTRUM AFTERMATH is a show with a difference – no one yet knows what it will be! The performance will come out of the LUSTRUM project - a fast and furious collaborative project taking place in Nottingham from the 7-11 July, resulting in a performance at The Neville Studio, Nottingham Playhouse on 12 July.

PERFORMERS with special talents are being asked to take part in a dance show.

Performers can include people with skills as diverse as acting, singing, doing magic, playing an instrument, doing stand-up comedy, reciting poetry, or dancing.

Paul Russ, chief executive of Dance4, said: "We're looking for anyone aged 18 or over with a special talent who has a desire to showcase their skills alongside both amateurs and a great cast of professionals.

Portuguese artist Miguel Pereira and Nottingham-based dance organisation Dance4 are on the lookout for performers to take part in Miguel's latest production, Happy Piece.

Expect the unexpected

Quick Shifts (UK) will be staging three shows over the coming months, with the first on Sunday, January 26, which will skilfully evolve as the performances progress.

MY Dance Press

MY Dance festival was full of walks, talks, performances, dance battles most importantly lots of young dancers from across the Midlands region!

Each area of MY Dance Festival, MY Stage, MY Walk, MY World, MY Dance Fringe and MY Dance was a huge success. Four groups were chosen from MY Dance platform to now go on to the U.Dance national finals happening in July!

Evening Post - Streetdance vs Contemporary

Dancers took centre stage and brought the Broadmarsh Centre to a standtsill as part of the annual Nottdance festival. Shoppers stopped to watch a dance-off between street and contemporary dancers on Saturday.

The seven dancers involved, included Nottdance artists who specialise in comtemporary dance, and street dancers from SUBtext and Take 1 based in Nottingham. The 45 minute show included individual and group demonstrations.
