Dance4 in partnership with The Royal Ballet
Dance4 are working in partnership with the Royal Ballet School.

We are proud to say that Dance4 are working in partnership with The Royal Ballet School to support selected primary schools, with the delivery of an exceptionally high standard creative introduction to ballet.

primarySTEPS is a junior school programme, which operates in five specially selected centres around the country, including Mansfield, which aims to provide Year 3 class groups with a positive introduction to ballet. Primary schools currently participating and receiving 6 introductory creative ballet workshops annually are;

Robin Hood, St Edmunds C of E, Leas Park, Peafield Lane and Northfield

Up to 25 pupils from participating schools who have not previously had an opportunity to study ballet, will be invited to attend a regular primarySTEPS dance class as part of initial ballet training.  These classes run weekly during Year 3,4,5 and 6.

Throughout their time on the programme, every effort is made to signpost primarySTEPS pupils to suitable further dance opportunities, which may include local Key Stage 3 gifted and talented groups, local Centres for Advanced Training and The Royal Ballet School Junior Associates.

The Royal Ballet School’s association with the Mansfield area began with aDvANCE, a secondary schools project based programme.  Through this The Royal Ballet School supported Manor Academy in developing ‘gifted and talented’ dance provision for Key Stage 3 pupils.  Mansfield schools which have previously participated in aDvANCE projects are;

The Manor Academy, The Brunts School, Meden School, Samworth Church Academy and Queen Elizabeth’s School.
